Working with our active travel partners, we’ve launched SustainableTravel.scot, an interactive, one-stop-shop for anyone looking to get a walking, cycling, wheeling or sustainable transport idea off the ground.
The site hosts what’s on offer from Scotland’s key active travel organisations including grants, training, advice, ideas and inspiration. Users simply search what they want to achieve, and the site will find funding or advice that meets their needs.
Everyone from individuals and schools to community, third, public and private organisations can find tailored support to encourage more sustainable travel, reduce carbon emissions and improve health and wellbeing.
Graham McQueen, our Smarter Choices, Smarter Places (SCSP) Manager said:
There’s no doubt that there has been an increase in walking, cycling and people choosing sustainable transport in recent years, but the fact is we need to do more to tackle the climate emergency.
This new website makes it easier and quicker for a wide range of individuals and organisations to find and access the right funding and support for ideas and plans they have to increase walking, cycling, wheeling and shared, sustainable travel opportunities.
I’d encourage anyone to take a look at this new website, and see what’s out there to help us all get moving in new ways.
SustainableTravel.scot hosts information from Cycling Scotland, CoMoUK, Paths for All, Energy Savings Trust, Forth Environment Link, Sustrans, Living Streets, Cycling UK, and Scotland’s active travel hubs – agencies all funded through Transport Scotland’s Active and Sustainable Travel Team.
