Sharing the love this National Walking Month

It's National Walking Month - a perfect time to share why we all love walking.

We're celebrating our favourite month of the year by launching a new social media campaign - #ILoveWalking - that will showcase what walking means to so many different people.

We're inviting everyone to take to social media anytime during May and share why they love walking and photos of the places they most love to walk to.

The campaign will dovetail with other high-profile campaigns running during National Walking Month including the Step Count Challenge, Mental Health Awareness Week, Walk to School Week and Living Streets' #Try20 campaign.

Kevin Lafferty, our CEO said:

National Walking Month is the perfect time for us all to share why we love walking so much.

We know how much walking means to people, especially after almost two years of uncertainty and a time when walking was one of the only things we were allowed to do.

We also know that more people are enjoying walking for leisure or to get from A to B which is a great way to boost body and mind.

This month is a fantastic opportunity for everyone, everywhere to share how special walking is to them, giving walking the spotlight it deserves.

Alongside other great campaigns that will be running this month, we'll be able to capture the mental, social, physical and environmental benefits of walking and wheeling.

To spread the #ILoveWalking word, we're working with a team of social media pros who share our passion for everyday walking, the outdoors, nature and being physically active.

They include Ross Cunningham, one of our Scottish Walking Award winners, and Claire D'All, a wheelchair-user blogger and vlogger who loves the outdoors.

They'll be sharing their personal views on walking and wheeling and inviting their followers to do the same.

Kevin added: "We're encouraging everyone to get involved in National Walking Month and we hope that our campaign will inspire even more people to get outside and experience the amazing benefits for themselves.”

To share why you love walking, post a comment, photo or both on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, tagging Paths for All and using #ILoveWalking.

Everyone who submits a post will be in with a chance of winning £500 to spend at Cotswold Outdoor. (Terms and Conditions apply.)
