Care About Walking

We have worked with care home residents and staff in Perth and Kinross to develop a suite of accessible resources that encourage moving more and increasing daily physical activity.

Care about walking

People living in care homes can spend long periods of their day sitting or lying down. We aim to improve older adult’s physical, mental and social health by encouraging them to move more in and around their care home. Being active can also help reduce the risk of falls.

Activities can be tailored to each resident’s needs and include internal and external walking routes, improved signage to garden spaces, strength and balance activities, health walks and other creative ways to get residents moving.

Partnership working in Perth and Kinross has led to the development of a suite of accessible resources that encourage residents to move more and increase their physical activity. All the resources can be downloaded below.
